The markets are sleepy and quiet now, all in anticipation of Valentine’s Day. I usually start getting nervous around October in anticipation of Valentine’s Day.
We are hosting a one week comprehensive Masters’ Class in San Francisco starting February 1st the class will be by Juan Vasquez my new assistant in San Francisco.
He’s a wonderful teacher who has been designing with flowers since he worked with his mother as a little boy in Puerto Rico. Juan is a freelance floral designer in the Bay and Napa Valley region doing floral arrangements for large events and weddings. His enthusiasm for designing flowers and motivating his floral design students is engaging

Valentine’s Day Tips
If you are going to be selling flowers during Valentine’s Day here’s my 3 big tips:
1. Have everything designed 3 days prior to the holiday
2. On the day of Valentine’s Day your job is to ring up sales and nothing else unless you have a few private customers who come in and want a custom order.
3. Have enough help around to get rid of boxes, sweep, last minute deliveries, etc..
It’ll be well worth it at the end of this craziest of floral holidays.
